Notification management

Hi
On my SGS2 I am faintly hearing a frequent sound which I am guessing is a notification. I think it is something like a new email arriving (it isn't - but it would fit) as it doesn't seem to follow a regular pattern.

Any ideas as to how I can find out what is causing the sound?

I have tried uninstalling all unnecessary apps but not found the right one yet
