Hi, I'm new to smartphones and my wife and I just got S4's (from T-Mobile) which we like fine (so far).

My question is about the pull-down notifications thingy (Home screen, swipe downward) so when there are notifcations saying I "need" to update, how can I read (investigate) what exactly is being updated and why? Is there a "pending updates" app whic will let me browse through and see if I even need what being pushed on me?

Seems like if I "touch" the notification (as it says to) it goes ahead and installs, I kind'a don't want that, well, not so much w/o at least investigating what I'm getting.
(hard lesson learned from Windows, don;t always "need" the updates, sometimes it breaks other things, etc)

Tap and it takes you to Google Play, where you can investigate each suggested update before you click on the real "Update."
