I rooted my phone but haven't done much of anything to it, no ROMs or anything. I wanted to root my phone just to remove bloatware and get WiFi Tether. Since the November OTA I get the dreaded update message and can't remove it.

    My questions are:
Do I need to unroot to apply the update and then root again?
Should I just apply a ROM?
If I should apply a ROM what ROM should I apply?

The reason I didn't apply a ROM was that when I originally went looking they all offered features that I didn't care about and some said there were issues with apps or certain error messages that would come up. I didn't see any benefit for the basic rooter like myself to apply a ROM.

I looked around in the forums but all of the things I saw said that you don't need to unroot, just apply the latest ROM but what if you don't have or want a ROM? Thanks

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I used UnRevoked (I think 3, it was two months ago so that was probably it) to root my phone. The Froyo 2.2 one click method....

    Rename this file...
    /system/etc/security/otacerts.zip
    ...and the nags will stop.
