Hi All, My name is NoVaDroid. I live in Centreville, VA. I became the proud owner of the Motorola A855, aka Droid, on 11/6/09. I have had the best weekend getting to know my new handheld. The weekend was made even sweeter when Dallas beat Philly 20-16. Go Cowboys!! I have owned several smartphones (Palm, Berry, and iPhone) and have enjoyed them all. None more than my 1st gen iPhone (may it rest in peace). But as I have become aquainted with Droid, I must say I am over the moon with this thing. From the massive screen to fast response, it outperforms any device I have owned to date. I am most impressed with the integration to Google and like what I have seen in Android Market. Suddenly, I don't miss the old iPhone anymore. : ) iTunes drag and drop with little effort and the speaker is loud and pretty crisp for a handheld device. Really looking forward to aftermarket appliances that take advantage of this great multi-purpose machine. The only rant I have at this point is a quirk in storing contacts from Gmail. I have two distinct contacts with similar sounding names. When Gmail pushed their particulars to the handheld, they merged into one. I don't get it and have been truly flummoxed trying to resolve the contacts into their separate entities on the phone. Verizon tech support has advised me that Motorola is aware of the issue and is working on a fix. Beyond that, they could not offer an ETA or workaround. At this point. I think I will try to create the contact in my corporate email contacts and import it from there hoping they still don't try to merge. If that works, fine for now, but I sure do want to have each contact in Gmail like they should be.
