I also kept my unlimited data and got the g2 today. If you have another phone with a limited data plan you can just upgrade that line then simply switch SIM cards.

Exactly what I ended up doing. Worked great.

Just put my sim into the g2. *Edit* yes activate on the limited data phone, then just switch the sim after.

I just moved my sim into the G2 and that worked. The flip phone just defaulted back.

I used an upgrade from another line, then had them transfer it to my line when i picked it up. Also the coupon code still works

I did. All you do is order the phone using an upgrade on a different line on your account. That phone will still stay active like nothing even happened while the G2 is being shipped. When the G2 arrives, simply power down YOUR current phone, remove the SIM card and place it into the G2.

That's it. You will overtake the G2 automatically. The phone you used to upgrade with just stays the same as it always was except its upgrade date starts over and its back in contract.
