How long before the BB Playbook has its very own fire sale?

I don't think I'd want a Playbook even it was $99 like the Touchpad was. It doesn't even have a built in email client and it's practically useless unless you have a BB.

That's why you would flash Android over it like they did with the HP Touchpad :p

Bolded was an absolutely huge mistake by RIM, what in the world would make them think that would be a good idea?

Maybe they were realistic enough to know that no one would buy the Playbook unless they already had a BB? :p

    I took a look at it and I don't own a BB.

I think Playbook was never a relevant competitor in the market place even before the new Kindle Fire. I'm more interested to see how the Kindle takes a bite of out Apple! I think the Kindle will be good for Android as a whole as more developers will want to develop apps that can be sold for android, whether it be in Andriod market of Amazon's market.

It's known it's android inside but is amazon actually using the word android or not?

They didn't in the video I watched earlier, does it have the google apps and market?

    Or just the amazon market?

Or is it even more covered up and no google apps, market or amazon market kinda like a nook color?

edit: it does have amazon android market it seems like.

The kindle is Android-based? I thought they had their own OS. Doesn't really matter anyways, the kindle won't be available in Canada.

Couple of interesting news blogs in the past few days showed that the Kindle Fire is being build by the same OEM making the Playbook and may be nearly identical hardware - and that the Playbook is already announced with rebates and discounts to drop down to the Fire's lower price range.

Why would you buy a Playbook instead of a Fire unless you were just nutty and out of your head? Why would you buy a Nook Color instead of a Fire?

    The Fire has -

    - A large app store
    - VOD store
    - Large MP3 store with streaming abilities

Neither the Playbook or the NC has any of those. The NC has a bookstore that can compete with the Fire in terms of reading, but it's app store doesn't have nearly the selection, it doesn't have a Cloud Player type functionality and it doesn't have VOD capabilities at all. On top of that, it costs $50 more. BN should be scared right now.

It's got the Amazon Appstore on it. So you have access to all the apps in the Amazon Appstore. Now, that's more limited than the Google Market, but the vast majority of apps people are going to want are there.
