Finally we have root access! Thank you spenny33 for your poot method!

Now that we have root, is it possible to unroot in the case that we have to send our phones in or return it?

If you go to the link in the Optimus Elite forum, where this root method was developed, you can see that "poot" is a pretty minimalist root -- all it does is open a hole, install super user, then quit. No additional system files (ie. busybox, etc.) are installed. So, to unroot, you would

    a) undo whatever you did to your phone when you had root access: Unfreeze or reinstall your bloatware. When we have custom roms and such, back up your original stuff (you should be doing that anyway)

    b) delete super user

Here is the link to the developer's thread on the Elite forum: Post #1 is the overview of poot, and Post #51 and again at #73 talk about undoing it.
