Root Obligatory noob rooting questions

    Hi apologies but I can't find any specific info on rooting the Xperia s. I've rooted and custom rom-ed a galaxy w before so I know a bit about it but...

    All I seem to find is instructions to unlock the bootloader. Is that the same as rooting? (Its not- is it:thinking:)

    What is used to create a backup image of the rom - Clockworkmod?

    Sorry I'm sure these questions have been asked and answered but when you search for "root" you tend to get a lot of hits.

    you can root by flashing your phone with the prerooted image. you dont need to unlock the bootloader. but as for now there is no custom roms yet. they are in the works

    if you go to xda forums like tyseyh says there is a lot more info on that.
