Yeah if you use the img tags it works really well. I just click the box with the little picture of a mountain and sun on the icon. It's the one next to the speech bubble looking icon.
Those file sharing sites don't always provide a direct link to your image, especially those requiring a secure connection. If you want to use Picassa, to get the direct link, don't use their sharing link but open the image from the Picassa website and right click to select "copy image url" (depending on your browser).
Here's my homescreen. I use Nova Launcher to reduce down to 3 homescreens and have a semi-transparent app drawer. Also I have double tap to get to settings (I hate that the settings button is no longer on the primary notification drop-down). And I have a gesture setting that will let me swipe down to bring down the notification bar so I don't have to reach all the way up to the notification bar. These settings make one-handed use a little easier.
And that's the torch flashlight widget and the settings profile widget which is really ugly and needs to be updated, but it's an awesome app if you get the paid version.
