Help Odd SMS notification problem

I installed Handcent and set it up to be the only app to give me notifications on sms. However for one of my contacts i get no notification when a sms is recieved from him, and if i look in the handcent app his messages don't show up there only in the standard messaging app. Is there anyway to make handcent handle his messages? I should note that when i write him messages it is using handcent. Thanks in advance.

what App is he using, if all your other messages work fine except for one contact... the problem my be on his end.

He has an env2 or 3 i think. I did just notice that its doing it for another contact as well. i think i might just reset the phone and start from scratch.
