I seriously doubt it, unless you're doing a lot of tethering.
I probably wouldn't be if the phone's browser is as good as it looks.
During this slow time I was hoping someone could answer a question or two for me. Im currently a verizon customer, but after 10 long years I am going to be switching to sprint soon. Reason for this is simple, my fiance's father is a sprint corporate manager so I can take advantage of Sprint's Advantage club and pay a fraction of what Verizon was charging me. Ive been following the Supersonic/Evo for months now and when its available thats when I will make the switch.
Question is, under this Advantage Club will I have the ability to purchase the phone the very day it comes out? Or will I have to wait because I dont have a standard contract at a standard price? I tried looking it up and I think I read something talking about Advantage club members having to wait a month or two before they were allowed to purchase the Pre, but I'm not entirely sure. Appreciate any help you guys can provide me, thanks!
Yeah, that's what I'm looking for and why I wanted the big screen.
I can't imagine that you'd have to wait past the release date, but this is the EVO 4G forum. You might get a better answer in the Sprint forum. Also, there's another thread in this forum "Any Sprint Employee or Insider on Forum?" where a forum member named SprintTerp who works for Sprint, has been answering questions in that thread.
Good call Bill~
Thanks, Salty. What is the Fires of Heaven Guild? Cool website, but I can't figure out what it is.
hey guys sorry i had classes all day :/ but yeah nothing very exciting last night, just a breifing on the phone. On April 16th the real info which noone really knows will be released publicly. I thought that Evo video was good too and found it interesting how they mentioned nothing about the screen or android build. Good stuff Dan, can't wait to see what this bad boy will be packing!!
If you plan to swap the phone out, BEWARE. In order to qualify for the rebate you have to have the handset on the line that is eligible for the upgrade when the rebate is processed.....like 30 days after you send it in. If I understood your plan to get the EVO on a line which is eligible for an upgrade and swap it to your line the best plan is Best Buy, not necessiarily to not have to wait for the rebate, but to be able to swap the phone immediately.
Thanks, earldriscoll. Just curious, but do you know this because you work for Best Buy?
sooooooo i just got a job at BB, i reallly hope i can use my new discouuuunt it's 5-10% above what the store pays depending on the item, but if they are not buying them direct from HTC to sell thennnnnn i don't think it'll work
Sorry, I didn't meant to scare you guys off.
No, I know this because I upgraded another line with the HERO then immediately swapped it to my line. Friendly rep at Sprint customer retentions suggested I do it this way in order to get the benefit of the rebate and be able to immediately swap the phone to another line. Luckily I have yet a third line which is now eligilble for upgrade.....Best Buy here I come!
i am soo done over at sprint forums, i still have to keep proving my legitamacy and i am sooo tired of arguing with those people. You are all soo nice over here and therefor i am making this my new home. All the good info i get will be posted here first from now on. Thank you all for your support
Thanks! I cleared up some space in my bookmarks by deleting the sprint forum page LOL!! I keep watching this HTC promotional video. Damn what a nice phone even if it's just a render.
Addendum: There was an episode of "Modern Family" last night that featured the iPAD being released on one of the main characters' birthday. The whole plot had his family looking for an iPAD because the wife failed to wake up early enough to sit in line for it. In the end he gets one and is caressing it on the couch and says "I Love you" to the iPAD. Wife walks in and says "oh i love you too honey." That's how I will be with the EVO...caressing it and saying "I Love you" that first day I get it.
yeah its going to be awesome i just can't wait to get mine!
hahahaha i JUST watched that on ch131 and when it was over i hopped over here and read that and LOL'd
i thought it was funny how he was just stroking it with this finger tips
I hear you about the Sprint forums, Jackson.
Though I did not post there too often, I read about 97% of the Supersonic replies and a lot were filled with a lot of antagonism and silly back and forth arguing.
Even though I've only been following these forums for a few weeks, I can already tell these forums are so much nicer, and I really dig the atmosphere and friendly posters here!
Hahaha, I don't think I'll be too far off from you. I feel bad for my girlfriend because I'll prob end up ignoring her a good bit at least for the first 2 or 3 days I have my hands on that device.
I can already imagine myself hugging her at some point and having both my hands twiddle with the device behind her back, heh.
lol same. i can imagine convincing her we can just video call to see eachother for a few days LMAO
dude!! I forgot to congratulate you on your new job at best buy! I know some people knock them but I have a lot of buddies I shoot the shit with there. Good times laughing with you guys
I know this has already been mentioned, but has anyone noticed that Sprint has updated their site with details about the 30-day guarantee now?
Sprint Free Guarantee
Edit: Also, if you log in to Sprint, it gives you details about a new "Sprint.com" update coming April 11th. Sprint is really getting serious!
Here's a preview: http://www.sprint.com/landings/whatsnew/index.html
Welcome andro 17 i def remeber you, i think u stuck up for me a few times back there. Gahh they are annoying!
But yess Sprint is really trying to make their customer service better and their employees more knowledgeable because they have a sense that the Evo could help bring them back on top
This may seem a bit off-topic, but I had a question hopefully someone will be able to answer.
So, it's been posted that Best Buy will be doing pre-orders for the device, yet, as of now, my 2-year contract does not expire until 9/01/10, however, as I am a Premier customer, it shows me being eligible for the $150 towards upgrading.
So my question is, would I be eligible for the Best Buy pre-order? I know often the case is that it requires a new contract or 2-year renewal, but I may not be eligible for a "normal" 2-year renewal, if that makes any sense.
No I've done it before it works that way. (PS. used to sell Sprint Nextel)
If you're Premier, you're elligible after a year for a full upgrade. The $150 is credit towards getting an upgrade on a second line.
hey will, do you believe launch will be the first of june or later?
