So since the omap processor in the nexus is listed as 1.5 ghz by TI will post people immediately overclock it to that with setcpu when available?

    I'll certainly try it.

    Stability is king though.

OCing = more strain on the battery... considering you're already getting 1.2 GHz dual-core, I don't see why people would feel the need to OC.

Correct me if wrong. Ill explain to the best of my knowledge. Basically it takes a snapshot of your phone at that point. Then you can restore to that point if anything goes screwy

P3droid was able to remove the search bar now. For everyone that dislikes it.

You can't say that loud enough or emphatically enough. I give a big Amen to that statement. If I had a dollar for all the times that I OC my Dinc only to have it crash and get stuck in a bootloop forcing me to flash a backup, I would have enough money to get my Gnex for free.

I'm not panicking since I don't put much stock in what a sales rep tells me, particularly in a Verizon store, but...

I had to go to FedEx this afternoon and while I was out I decided I'd stop in at the Verizon store in my local mall and ask about the Nexus. I don't expect anything from these people, but since it's a very busy store I thought there might be a chance they had somewhat up-to-date info. I hope not.

I asked the lady when the Galaxy Nexus would be released and she says "Oh, you mean the Nexus Prime? That will be coming out after the new year; it's been delayed."

Considering she isn't using the production release name I figure she knows nothing at all, but that definitely made my heart sink a little bit. If I don't have this phone before Christmas I very well may switch to a GSM carrier.

Between this and the permanent search button mod that one guy made, it looks like many people's wishes will be fulfilled :p

It's an exact image of your rom, including apps, data and your configuration settings. It's a snapshot of your phone at a moment in time.

If you or any app or any update breaks something you can restore to a previous and happy point with minimal effort.

I find it to be a life saver. Never tinker with roms, kernels or overclocking without it.

    Edit - ninja'd :D

It is a backup of your apps, data, etc.
You can go back and restore to it at any time to get back to that exact setup.

Useful if something goes wrong or if you are experimenting with another rom and want to go back to previous rom.

    I apologize...I didn't see this until today.

Yes, the plan was to go GSM from the get out...and so far so good.

The browsing experience has gone to a whole new level, and outside of not having any experience with Android, it has been alot of fun.:)

I'm trying to think of the apps I have on the iPhone, and find the similar ones of the Android market place.

I find the all the buttons and drop down menus well thought out, but still struggle with the widget thing.

I also found a nice skin at the Verizon store, and was treated like a celebrity when I said it was for the Google Nexus...you could've heard pin drop. The skins were being held in the rear room strangely, and everyone had to hold it, some approached like it was the Holy Grail. I also found a nice leather case at ATT that would accomodate the phone in the skin, albeit a bit tight, but has loosened a bit since yesterday. Goes in and out pretty easily now.

So true! And it enables her to have a line to gift to my grandfather for Christmas so it's a win win

lol wow. I can't believe some people would say things like that >_> (since we're basically 100000000000% certain it can't possibly be delayed until 2012)...

Zero credibility. She's paid on commission. Her job is to sell you what she has, not what she doesn't have. I'm sure she was hoping you'd say, oh well in that case, what phone do you suggest that is out now? At which point she shove you into an iPhone 4S or a Razor.

Exactly right. FWIW, I also NEVER set to overclock on boot. I enable it when I need it, and it stays on until the phone gets reboot.

Don't feel like dealing with bootloops.

And see, this is the awesome stuff that P3 does. He really is a valuable asset, but don't tell him, as it goes strait to his head, and then he starts gloating.

Exactly. I am wondering about this. I will tweet him. He doesn't usually answer me though. He's on a pedestal.
