What I said makes perfect sense, its just that you guys seem to totally not get it. . I am saying that VERIZON MIGHT ADVERTISE IT AS A DIFFERENT PHONE TO MAKE IT SOUND EXCLUSIVE. .that's all. .WE might know that it's the same phone, but people watching the commercials will be sold when Verizon says you can only get this Droid on Verizon.

To just get away from camera talk, I noticed that Bionic's battery life isn't that great according to early reviews, hands-on. There are some reports that heavy usage can kill it in about 4 hours. I think that's just a little better than Tbolt. I hope Prime can go 6+ hours under heavy usage.

I hate turning this thread too much into camera discussion. But this topic pops up often. So here is my opinion just one more last time...

Anyone into digital photography knows that higher mega pixels actually hurts the image quality with others being equal (lens, sensor size, etc) due to higher image noise. Higher mega pixels only lets you make larger printing or posting but makes imaging firmware tougher to deal with trading off noise reduction and image details. I think even small digital cameras have gone way too much in that race and should have stopped at around 10Mp. I see results that 7~8Mp cameras of past easily out resolve 14~16Mp new cameras in image details. Since phone camera sensor is even smaller than digicams 1/2.3", I think 5MP is adequate if module is designed properly.

That would be false advertising then :)

I'm not trying to argue with you so don't take it wrong. I'm just trying to point out that the picture has gotten a little fuzzy and we are not out of the woods yet. Still too many unanswered questions.

lol well yeah that's what I wouldn't be too surprised if Verizon did. .that's why I said that this is the Droid and not the Nexus wink wink.

And they could actually make it like they did the GS2 where there was slight changes on the different carriers of the phone but it was still the same phone.

lol again this is all speculations that's popping into head as that's what this forum is about rights now

EDIT: the reason I say this is since Verizon likes to stuff their phones up with crap before they release them, and Google wasn't having it, than they maybe decided to make something else for Verizon all together for Verizon to load up and call the Droid (with either similar specs or identical specs as the Prime). .which could be the i515. .just another idea to through on the board

I think it makes a lot of sense for Samsung to keep a lid on the obviously great specs of the Prime until closer to release time which gives the SGSII time to sell a few units. Timing in this business is everything.

Yeah makes sense. .plus they go to far far lengths to keep information like this sealed from other competitors to the last day sometimes

You don't know whether or not the Prime's camera is a totally amazing upgrade or not, because we have no reliable specs for the Prime's camera.

And even if we knew its megapixels, which we do not, you would still not know whether the Prime's camera is a totally amazing upgrade or not, because megapixels do not determine the quality of a camera.

We come here to swap information, tips, and predictions with other (rational) owners and enthusiasts -- and fortunately the trolls seem to be few and far between. We try to help people when they don't quite understand the tech, and sometimes it just wasn't worth it. Eh, life goes on.

On my OG Droid here in the northeast I very rarely drop a call unless talking with a T-Mobile friend, in which case it's about every third call.

Ooooh, that's what I was afraid of. No matter what phone I upgrade to, I'll get a spare battery cheap off eBay.

Well, yknow, Verizon's not getting an SGS2 so they can feel free to tell us all about Prime anytime now. :D

Hi everyone..newbie here but been learking in the shadows for months now. There is new article on Phonearena from one of their sources stating the Nexus Prime may be called the "Samsung Galazy Nexus" so here's yet another possible name for the Nexus Prime. (I'd post the link but I dont have enough posts :))

CK..glad to see you in here..I've been in the AC forus learking also but never got the reason why you got booted.

God I hope this comes out soon...My damn Blackberry Storm 2 needs replacing!!!

Seeing the GSII not come to Verizon did pop my bubble and me trying to be a Carrier mind reader is not a possibility.

However, I would be in state of momentary Shock if Verizon put an untouched UI, no bloat ware device on its shelves of any make or model.

I will not be shocked if the Prime of any kind fails to be in their line up at al. Disappointed yes, tempted to change carriers yes.

    Shock Me Verizon!

I tell you what: if Verizon dumps on us and skips this whole phone series - whatever name they use - I will be apoplectic. I'd hate to buy a Bionic after months of waiting on vaporware

If Verizon IS prepping an epic superphone to compete against iPhone 5, then they will have redeemed themselves for having skipped the SGS2. I will be hinging on everything I can get out of Han's sister... except maybe this:

"Mom! Han told the whole world I look like the Hulk!"

Han check out my rumor thread. These specs will be phenominal. I can see them passing up the Galaxy SII for this beast.

    :p

If Verizon brings us nothing better than the HTC Vigor this year (which I doubt based on what my sis said), then I will just swallow my pride and get the stupid Bionic. At least it won't be $299 then.

But me saying I'll get the Bionic if nothing better comes this year is like saying I'll eat my dog if it doesn't snow in Chicago this year. It's not even worth saying, really.

Yep, I posted this in the Date Speculation thread.

It just seems a bit too optimistic for me. But who knows. I just want the stupid thing before it starts snowing.

    Just a thought:

If the Samsung Droid Prime ends up being an SGSII with LTE (Celox?) and NOT a Prime (meaning NO Ice Cream Sandwich), would that turn you off and make you pass it up?

If it has HD and LTE, I'm still getting it. Reading the reviews of the Bionic's screen is not impressive in the least. But I will be disappointed if there is no ICS.

This came up in my mind because I thought about this article: Exclusive: Verizon passes on GALAXY S II, but 'similar' Samsung phone launching soon

I will not upgrade from the DX until there is a Verizon phone with ICS and LTE with solid battery performance. Even if the best of the specs hold true with the Prime, if I can't get 12 hours of light to moderate use from the thing, I will likely keep the X.

Interesting. 4.65" SEEMS big; but I guess we'll see come release.

I just found out via Verizon chat I can let my contract run out on 1/1/2012 and not lose my unlimited data option or NE2 discount so I'll wait until the OG dies and perhaps do an insurance claim and hunker down for the long haul.

I want at least a 4.5 display and am wondering if a curved display would make it difficult to avoid reflective glare on a car dock?

    I Wait.

Still no crying on the Moto Bionic support forums. I lurked over there on the DX2 and the Tablets and mercy sakes the complaints were many.
