For you third shifters, enjoy:
As I said earlier, I am frustrated by this whole process too. But Verizon really doesn't owe us an explanation regarding their decision-making process. They made a press release and haven't gone against the information contained in that press release. There are many things Verizon knows - like what phones are coming out in 2012 that may blow the nexus away - but they're not any more obligated to tell us about other future plans as they are about the Nexus.
I think at this point it is pretty likely that Verizon ran into some sort of problem with the Nexus, whether it be hardware, software, wallet, or something else. Should they really have to press release that just to satisfy the tiny percentage of customers who follow this story closely? It is bad for their business to announce anything that can be viewed as negative, and unless they are going to break their previous press release, they don't have to say anything.
And practically speaking, even if Verizon did say something, like that they are still testing software, would that satisfy us? I don't think so.
This is likely to get lost in the noise - but here goes.
QFT in a post means "quoted for truth" and is not a perturbation of anything involving the F word.
(In response to some reports we've been getting lately.)
Thanks, just getting settled in, finishing up my first cup of joe.
lol. people reported me??!!
I didn't report you, but I must admit I had to google "qft"
I did in the end figure it out though.
Hm, I've never reported a mod before. First time for everything..
Also, I feel like the night crew is so much more chill then the grumpy old day timers. >:0
NIGHT CREW FTW!
And so I don't get reported, FTW means For the win! LOL
Oh and BTW, LOL means Laughing out loud.
P.S. - BTW means By the way.
Oh, and PS means Post Scriptum...
I've been reported for everything.
My favorite was for being a spammer, because - Telling people to use nice language is spam in our thread, we say what we want. Someone please ban this spammer. (paraphrased with cleaner language)
Hypothetical question, if for some God awful reason Verizon scrapped the Nexus, what would you get? Or would you wait to see what else is coming?
ugh...idk. I would have to seriously consider the Rezound. But I may just wait for something that really blows my socks off.
Hasn't been anything since the DInc until now. For me at least. So we'll see...
Rezound... the second that they would say that. Or if they said something about coming in Q1, I'd get the Rezound today.
I would probably look around for a Dinc for cheap on craigslist, and then wait to see what comes out next.
I would buy a 40 dollar droid eris off ebay- wait 2 months in misery until something that catches my eye comes out. (My new phone hunt usually happens every 3 months anyway)
Edit: ninja'd kinda
I feel the same way. If only the Rezound had an Amoled screen...
I originally posted this question with a "quote"..i'd still like this question answered...
hopefully somewhone can help...
is the "Galaxy Nexus by Samsung" considered a Google device...or a Samsung Device?!?
basically what i'm asking does the Gnex fall into the same category as other Samsung devices which are currently be pursued by Apple?
from my understanding it is a Google device, not a Samsung device, but is manufactured by Samsung....does this fall under the same blanket as All Samsung products or is it seperate ?
EarlyMon are you planning on picking up a Nexus?
Being an HTC fan, my other fave is the Rezound right now. HTC has made a big generational upgrade with the camera software for their newer phones, fortunately it's ported over to the 3vo and it's a big improvement from past efforts. The S3 is not the dog processor many people claim, it's HD, the camera is good and it's out and working. Maybe bloaty for now, but full root is coming.
Seeing as how I have Droid Bionic now and I really dislike Motorola's UI, I refuse to get the RAZR. HTC has proven themselves to me time and time again so the Rezound may have to be my only choice.
I am really looking to tryout a Samsung device though. I've heard nothing but good things. Part of me wishes this wasn't a Nexus but a software-buttoned Galaxy SII with ICS (Galaxy SIII?).
If that (cancelled GN) were to happen...
Screw it, I'll go back to my dumbphone and ipod touch combination until something better comes out.
Something tells me your a huge fan of semantics. lol.
Whichever way you put it- Google hauls in the software, Samsung hauls in the hardware. You can coat it with whatever sugar anyone else might add lol.
Probably the Rezound, as I haven't heard of anything coming out in the near future.
