Runs fine, but my light doesn't actually turn on lol

Probably cause I'm running stock froyo (defrost) on my desire just now.

    Finally!!

This needs to be stickied, i've been searching/waiting for this for months!
So bloody useful, no idea why it wasn't included in the original software, it doesn't even appear to use much battery keeping the led on.. :)

this one doesnt have the morse code function like LED desire light but it does have auto flashing and SOS if you hit menu.

Ill use this one I think just cos its pretty and its the official app so if it kills my LED I can blame HTC for it (probably) as it doesnt appear to have a disclaimer.

Thanks, it works perfectly on my unrooted eclair.

QUESTION: Does it damage the LED in any way?

If you have a Rapidshare premium account so that clicking links directly initiates the download, sometimes files will download with the .html extension as the file name in the link is: -

    com.htc.flashlight.apk.html

If that's the case, just remove the .html part and it'll work just fine.

    Compared to LED Desire Light:
    -4 brightness settings
-dims screen when led is on
-led stays on when switching to other apps
-separate buttons for brightness & on/off

    HTC Flashlight
    -3 brightness settings
-single rotating function button low, then medium, then bright, then off.
    -much prettier interface
-one small button in the middle of the screen, much easier to hold the phone without accidentally changing a setting

Basically, the desire light gives much more control, but it's incredibly irritating to bump the SOS button accidentally while your using the light. Think I'll keep both for now.

HTC apps usually depend on Sense, so not only do they only work on HTC devices but only if you are running a Sense ROM.

But there are many other flashlight apps out there.
