Google Chrome tells me that page is in Irish.....perhaps that's why we've never seen those names! Damn foreign languages!
this is the biggest emotional roller coaster ive been on in a long time!!!!!!
Not me. I like what I see. I'd just rather see it in my hands than just on my computer screen.
Just means conflipper hasn't gotten hold of its ROM yet (since it hasn't leaked to anyone yet).
The splash1 size does make sense. If we assume the screen res will be 800x480, you should get a filesize (assuming 16 bpp), of 768000 bytes. Also, I believe Windows uses the 1000 bytes = 1KB notation.... so 768KB.
Can you drop into a command line and see what the reported size is? It should be 768000. From there, we can try to reconstruct the image...
Does this mean that VZW needs these roms to load onto the new incredible phones that we will be getting? Which maybe means the stores will be getting them after this download?
I'm going to dissect the shit out of that rom as soon as it finishes downloading. It's taking FOREVER! I'm kinda a computer whiz, I'll see what I can do.
As of 15 mins ago, the HTC rep was still in Spokane, WA - 5 hours from here. Sorry.
Windows uses 1024B = 1KB, therefore it's 786,432 bytes.
In addition, the system.img does list the Incredible and the Supersonic in it.
If this is the shipped ROM (doesn't appear to be, normally it would say SHIPPED or SHIPPING at the end, and this mentions that is has no drivers), this is what would be on the phones when they ship from the factories to Verizon. Verizon doesn't put ROMs on the phones themselves (they can upgrade them though).
At least this ROM gives us stuff to investigate and pass time while we wait for news from CTIA.
...it's your modesty that gets me.
Scepterr, the guy who posted the link to the ROM on twitter, is Max Krivonos. I googled him and his facebook page says he's employed by T-Mobile. Not quire sure how he'd get his hand on a ROM for Verizon, but figured I'd throw it out there.
i am about to meet with our companies verizon agent. i will see what i can get out of them.
No the phones that Verizon will have will already have the latest ROM already on it, but with new future ROM's they would be available on Verizon's or HTC's site, most likely VWZ's though.
I guess it does exist. LOL! nubz!
Well what are you doing?! Get in the car and get to Spokane! haha J/K
Can someone explain all this ROM stuff in laymen's terms please????I'm not sure why this exciting......
already did check my post a page or so back ....
Here we go...another 15 pages of people trying to figure out what this all really means, which in the end you'll realize is nothing!
So, is there an emulator or something we can load this ROM on? Sorry, I just don't know how that all works.
MM, Do you know where in Spokane I live in Spokane?
