Moto. It seems anyone with 64white has heard nothing.
I am happy for the people who ordered from Moto but I think it's ridiculous that GP order people will likely get theirs a week later (or more) than moto and almost a week later than T-Mobile. Absurd.
Frustrating would be more like it. Same issues of supply/demand/fulfillment they had with the N4 (I skipped the N5) and the play store order lag and backlog. Ultimately what Google did at their own expense was upgrade shipping to overnight and eat the entire cost. I wouldn't be surprised if they did this again ... with those who complained.
Well I ordered with normal shipping but I would hope I'd at least get it this week. But if they truly ship on 11/21, then I probably won't get it until the Monday after Thanksgiving.
It was 2 years ago, and I have trouble remembering what I had for breakfast some days but if i recall correctly, when Play confirmed the order they gave you a shipping date range. If that changes to later than originally estimated and the customer complains, they expedite at their expense.
Can any N5 launch day orderers confirm or refute this from the last launch?
There wasn't supply issues for the Nexus 5, so I don't think this happened.
I ordered the 5 within a minute or 2 of the play store links going live. In our case they overestimated the shipping time. I had it in hand well before they said it would leave the warehouse
Looks like 11/21 is going to be the ACTUAL date this time.
If we're lucky...at this rate, I'm not holding my breath that it'll actually ship 11/21. If it doesn't, I'm cancelling my order and ordering a white from moto directly (had ordered a blue, but thinking I like the white better).
I ordered directly from Google and I'm still showing a ship date of 11/21 (64gb blue, if it matters). However, I don't mind getting it a little after others as I'm hoping a solid root/unlock method has been found out by the time I get it, if one hasn't already, so that I can unlock and root it as soon as I get the phone. I don't want to have to set-up the phone only to have to wipe it all during the unlock process later on!
I've never seen a Nexus that didn't like
fastboot oem unlock
Nexus 6 Fastboot OEM Unlock: Don't Worry, It Works Even On Verizon
After considering all things. I have decided to go with the Note 4. It will be here Thursday. By buying through the Edge Up program, even with financing the phone, my bill dropped $20 per month. For me, right now, it didn't make sense to go with the Nexus 6, although I LOVE it. However, having said all of that, my Nexus 6 is still scheduled to arrive here in Cincy on or before November 26th. If anyone is interested in jumping line and getting it from me PM me and we can talk about arrangements. Otherwise, Motorola is sending me return shipping labels.
I'm really looking to sell it to someone local so that I can go cash for the device rather than Paypal transfer or other payment options.
I should be enjoying my NexSix but sadly those of us that ordered the 64white have no idea what is going on...
Its hard to tell whats going on there (and I'm sure not gonna read the whole reddit page ), since theres been no word from big read about device availability we can assume this is either a GPE or moto bought device?
If he didnt purchase it from verizon there's no suprise it worked with a verizon SIM in it.
So I went to Vzw store today to browse, obviously no Nexu6 in sight, but still. Just going off the fact that the Nexu6 is slightly larger than the Not4, its gonna be hard to manage with something that big. Idk how ppl get by with the Not4, I mean in my hand it was ok (Im 6'3) but in my pocket is where controversy arises. Im still considering it tho just because I love love love my rooting and romming and thats the only real phone for such extracurricular activities on Vzw...!
Just got an email that my order shipped from Google Play. 32G Blue pre-ordered 10/29.
They said moto bought phones were being delivered, beating the play store so that's a fair assumption. I thought greese1 was asking about unlocking the bootloader which is what the fastboot command will do.
Yup, that's what I was inquiring about!
I have a 2013 Nexus 7, and when I unlocked that I remember it wiped the tablet so I wanted to avoid setting everything up on the phone only to have it wiped when I unlock the bootloader. Better to do it all at the beginning when I first get it out of the box.
I also figured I might as well root it at the same time, just to get it all over and done with. Has there been any thoughts on rooting the Nexus 6 yet? I know the Nexus 9 has already been rooted, so I figure it won't be too long until the N6 joins the party as well.
Ah, I didn't see greese1's post. I thought the linked article was referring to whether or not verizons nexus 6 had an unlockable bootloader. I've seen people asking about it other places. I'm sure it is unlockable but was just confused on where that n6 came from.
I must say that one of many reasons I truly enjoy Android is the flexibility it affords when it comes to customizing the phone to my liking. A long time Linux Laptop user, I'm used to the open environment that allows me to setup and configure my Androids for maximum enjoyment.
Once that's done the degree of reliability, speed and durability has been outstanding. Even the box stock unmodified Androids that I buy for family members easily matches the performance and reliability of the iPhone's other family members used until last year. That's when I bought my Nexus 5, a phone so well designed, including it's wonderful display, that suddenly the entire family wanted out of their iPhone's.
So I bought five more Nexus 5 models. To date they're still doing very well. So much so that I'm the only one that wants the much larger Nexus 6. I've never been so eager to get my hands on a new phone as much as I'm looking forward to this upcoming model.
All the T-mo talk has ceased. Interesting.
I ordered a N6 from AT&T at 7am on Nov 12th. My shipping window has been 11/18 - 11/19 since then. I haven't seen any movement so far today.
Anyone else in the same boat?
I was extremely excited about the N6 even with the huge price tag...until all the pre-order stupidity. For the first week I checked daily for availability at the Play store but I refused to be a maniac about it running scripts and sitting in front of the computer until the wee hours of the morning just for the chance a N6 would show up. The second week I checked every couple of days. This past week I don't think I've checked at all until today. Constantly seeing out of stock just makes me laugh.
At this point I no longer want the N6. My N5 with Lollipop is just fine.
FYI I woke up to this email today. My original delivery date said by November 26th from motorola.com. 32GB Cloud White
Nice, you will get yours when I ordered mine first through Google. I really don't care but each Nexus release is plagued with things like this. I hope you will be available for the signature!
Same for me. Ugggh....
