Another day with no shipping info. Someone on reddit called moto and was told the 64CWs are delayed till the 21st with no reason as to why.
I'm hopeful. My wife's iPhone shipped on the first day of her window and my daughter's shipped several days before her window.
I find it interesting that I will receive my Note 4 and my Nexus 6 on the exact same day. I will basically have $1,400 worth of phones waiting for me when I get home on Thursday. My intention was to sell the Nexus 6 or return it, however, now that they are here at the same time on the same day AND couple that wit the fact that my wife yesterday gave me the thumbs up to keep either one that I want, I really will have to examine both closely. I have a 30 day return window with Moto.com and 14 days with Verizon with only a $35 restocking fee. This may be the best thing since I have no idea which will feel better and operate better in real life.
I picked up the N6 and the Moto360 bundle. The N6 shows "preparing to ship" and the 360 says "processing" with the same dates .... 11/18 - 11/19*. *Estimated shipping date range Why is it that AT&T can estimate my bill instantly, but not correctly estimate the shipping date?
I had the note 4 for a week and LOVED it but I hated the overlay that Samsung put on the phone. With no root ergo no ROM (to get away from TouchShit) I had to give it up for an N6.
And let's face it, it might be our only option for a device that can run CM or other ROMs in 2014/2015, because with the change in lollipop, you need a custom kernel to get persistent root and a custom recovery. So if you want AOSP/CM/ROM'ing, the Nexus 6 might be your only option if you're on Verizon.
I looked back at a recent shipping notification email from at&t. The day they shipped my daughter's iPhone 6+ the email arrived at 805pm. I guess if they ship my N6 today I won't know it until tonight.
I know with some amazon delivery notifications, I usually get the notification after I've already opened the package. My advice ... take a deep breath, rent a movie and don't get your hopes up for timely delivery. If by some miracle it does ship, then you'll be even happier than if you had sat around waiting for it.
Okay. I have now played with a nexus 6. My local T-Mobile got their demo unit and lucky me they didn't even have it bolted to the wall. I got about 30 min or so to play until the next guy came in and wanted to look at it. Its amazing. I mean freaking amazing. The build quality is superb top notch. It feels very agile in the hand. Yes it is stupid big but I was able to text fine and get around the screen one handed. The screen is bright vivid crisp colorful. Speakers? Fahgettaboutit...stupid good sound. Its fast fast FAST buttery smooth. Really more than I could have hoped for. It does feel huge in my pocket and that is probably the only gripe I have with it. But in the hand it feels amazingly manageable which shocked me. I will be ordering one as soon as moto or play restocks 64GB blue. Any questions I can answer I am happy to do so.
I've heard in a review or two that viewing the screen from an angle causes some rainbowing. A guy at Best Buy I was talking too said it's really bad, though. How bad is it?
I thought the viewing angles were all fine. I noticed little rainbowing. However it was a very well lit environment (evenly lit) so that may have had something to do with it.
Don't take any store representative's word for it - they likely have an incentive to sell another device. Either read multiple reviews, or better still, go to a store and try it out yourself. I've played with one at a store and didn't notice any rainbowing, or any issues with the display. Unless you are looking at the screen at a very odd angle (parallel to and at the same level as the screen) for some reason, it will be just fine.
It was another customer asking when the Nexus 6 is coming in. We talked awhile and he mentioned that. I've pretty much read/watched everything I can find on the N6 and haven't heard that. Thought I'd inquire.
Does anyone know if the two color choices have different finishes for the back plates? Some reviews have mentioned that the phones are a little slippery, while others have said it has a nice grip, so I'm just wondering if the two different colors have different finishes, sort of like the Nexus 5 and 7. From what I remember of those, the white versions were a little slicker than the darker colored versions.
It was cool! I felt like I had found the holy grail lol. It was 32 and they confirmed that at launch that's all they will have (TMO) they did not know if they'd ever get the 64, they were not told. My store said they will not have any to sell tomorrow for the launch. I got to play with the blue, I can't speak to the white. I can say the blue felt good in hand, if you have played with the Moto X (2014) it's the same feel as the black soft touch back. It did not feel in the slightest bit "slick" or unruly. I had good control of the phone with one hand and was able to text one handed, go through the app drawer, go to Google now. All that was fine. It did (as some reviews have mentioned) pick up finger prints pretty bad.
Thanks for the info! I went with the blue as well, so it's good to know it's not too slick in the hand. I'm hoping it's something similar to the Nexus 7 2013 back cover, which is a matte plastic that feels, to me, very nice in the hand. I still went ahead and ordered a Cruzerlite case for mine. Not sure if I really want a case or not, but I figure for under $10 it's not a lot to invest in case I end up preferring to use it naked.
FedEx for the iPhone and my N6 has changed to PROCESSING and the carrier says FedEx. No tracking number yet. My wife's iphone came USPS but she ordered it in an ATT store. N6 is on the way. Left Ft Worth at 609pm and will be delivered by 430pm on Thursday.
Mine should be here tomorrow So stoked! I'll be doing an unboxing video tomorrow night after the rugrats go to bed.
