I didn't have that exact issue, however I had to run that small security update twice for it to finally take. Reboot and try again?

Reboot didn't work. I even tried to turn off mobile data and put phone in airplane mode.

Interesting.. Are you on work / public or home wi-fi? Is your N6 carrier branded or from Google directly? I have the Verizon model, got tired of waiting for OTA so after the security update, mine went to 5.1.1 LMY48T and from there I just flashed the full image. So far, 6 days and no issues. Decided to leave BL unlocked and rooted so I could turn on that darn hidden notification LED.

Anyone having the nexus 6 stuck in bootloader..
The boot log says system image failed to validate....can't select anything because it restarts ....

I also just upgraded to Android m... The phone froze upon reboot after installation... It restarted into the boot menu.....

I still don't think anyone has gotten the true OTA...I am still patiently waiting. (Well, not so patiently)

Me too! Android 6.0 just arrived this afternoon (10/21/15) via OTA. The 702 MB download just finished and is now installing. My stock N6 is in suburban Dallas, running on Sprint. :)

I have a nexus 6 with Verizon service. If my phone doesn't have a sim card, will it still receive 6.0?

No I didn't. And sprint had no clue how to fix it. The guy at the store tried to reload a system image from Google and was unsuccessful. Motorola is sending me a new one. How ever there tech support is just plain bad!

Got the OTA update to Marshmallow this evening on EE in the UK. All up and running now, will have a play tomorrow.

Have noticed they have change the Do Not Disturb mode again. This now no long works off the volume rockers and is accessed from the swipe down x2 menu. We are now back to a type of mute function from the volume rockers, hold down till at the bottom and then one more press for mute.

Well, I caved and updated via ADB and Fastboot...for those waiting, I've been off the charger for 7.5 hours and still have 89% of my battery remaining. The new features around battery life seem to have a HUGE positive impact. It shows I still have 2 days remaining. :) I have used the phone about like normal and have talked on it for about 30 minutes.

Finally gave up waiting for Verizon and sideloaded the OTA today using WugFresh. Ran into a couple issues but got it working in the end. So far it seems flawless! Now contemplating whether or not I should unlock the bootloader and turn off encryption using the new FED Patcher tool.

BTW. for those on Verizon I heard a rumor that the OTA is supposed to start November 1. This info supposedly came from a Verizon tech support rep, but who knows with these things. Glad I went ahead and sideloaded, as the waiting was really starting to bother me after dropping $$$ on a Nexus.

I received ota update for my Nexus 6 AT&T brand by pulling sim card and doing a factory reset. It updated to 6.0 but the boot up animation remained the same as lollipop . I have all the features of 6.0 and no issues at all except Boot up animation.

Quite strange. Have you tried a factory data reset after the original update?

It's installing now. Got both my N7 (2013 wifi) and N6 (verizon) updates at the same time. I'm in the Rochester, NY area.

    Builds are:

    6.0.0 (MRA58K)
    6.0.0 (MRA58N)
    6.0.0 (MRA58R)

The MRA58K was the original Marshmallow, all others are patches/updates. MRA58R is the current version.
