Hopefully this roadmap from many weeks ago is still true. Everything else on this spreadsheet has been correct, so far.

EDIT: I take that back. Of the items that have or should've released on this sheet per 'release date'....only 2 of the 5 items are listed on the VW website....the Bionic and 4G Xoom. The Pantech Breakout & Jest2, Samsung Stratosphere, BB Curve 9370 are listed yet. So who knows.

I didn't see this posted anywhere, so sorry if this has been discussed. I just started sifting through the SAR Report on the Vigor posted to the FCC web site earlier today. At the bottom of page 5 is a note describing various accessories used during the test. Item No. 7 under notes lists:

"beats earphone" and gives model number "RC E180"

Here's a chopped PDF of the bottom of Page 5:

    View attachment VigorSARpg50001.pdf

It looks like the Vigor will be a Beats device.

It had been teased that this will be a 'beats by dre' device but it is always nice to get a little more confirmation
Good looking out Chris!! I didn't really think the name Vigor would stick but honestly not sure how i feel about Thunderbolt 2.....

I agree; I would be shocked if this phone released as the "HTC Vigor." That said, do you think it will release as the TBII? HTC/VZW took a ton of flack over the issues some TB users faced (battery life, etc.), and may want to bury that name as a result. I think I agree with NightAngel79 in the above post for this reason.

Plus, there seems to be a significant change in styling between the TB and Vigor. On page 19 of the SAR report, I found a sketch of the PH98100 looking identical to the pictures that leaked a few weeks ago, right down to the red ring around the camera, and the texture on the back (including rhomboid-shaped speaker). Other than VZW branding then, those pictures look to represent the final product.

    See: View attachment scan0001.pdf

I'm thinking (and this is just a wild guess) that the Droid Incredible-like styling/coloring of this phone hints at the Droid line, if not the Droid Incredible line.

Interestingly, the Best Buy employee who made the post you link to listed the "Samsung Prime," without the Droid name. All rumors I have seen to date re that phone have listed it as a Droid. I may be reading WAY too much into it, but I'm wondering if the list of names he saw in the email were not necessarily the final names of those devices.

It looks like we'll know pretty soon though:D

I'll gonna say it will be called the Droid Incredible HD....HD for the HD screen....and DI because it has the same shape on the back and the red camera ring as the other DI(s).

That's where I'm leaning too. I just hope it doesn't come loaded with that Bing BS- if it's not in the Droid line, the possibility is certainly there.

Like this WAY more than tbolt 2. Love my Inc and been waiting for something that lives up to the name to be a worthy successor

According to that piece of paper, yes.

I don't care what they call it. As long as it is HTC, Dual Core, LTE and has a decent battery, I am in.

It's still hit or miss obviously...not a very "official" leak. I saw it on the Samsung Prime thread a few days ago but was on my Inc; too much of a hassle to repost over here at the time. Funny that it got linked from Droid Life...it was on Phandroid news page yesterday I think :) Here is the thread...you can follow it:

IIRC, the DInc didn't get the Droid moniker until about a week from launch. Although that isn't a significant deviation from the original, it still shows they are willing to change it even when the units are shipping.

Very true. My DInc was ordered the morning preorders started. The box it came in is off white and no mention of Droid anywhere. Later the packeage is black/grey with Droid branding aplenty. So we might not have heard the final work on this.

Plus there was a new shot of a Best Buy list very similar to the one you guys are referring to that shows the same as before, except the Thunderbolt doesn't show it going to a Thunderbolt2. At this point it could be the Tbolt2, Vigor, IncredibleHD or something else entirely. Personally I'd rather have it be either the Vigor or IncHD rather than the Tbolt2, but with the model number being ADR6425 that is probably the most likely.

Actually no red at all on the Inc2. The speaker grill is flat black and there really is no camera ring to speak of (the back cover slopes right up to the lens). I think the red has less to do with it being like the Incredible and more to do with the Beats logo being red.

That said I like the Incredible HD name the best of all. I think you guys are onto something with Verizon's reluctance to use the Thunderbolt name after the issues with the original. Even though it was rumored, I have yet to see a BB Storm3, so maybe the same thing will happen here as well.

Good call. I just read the Phandroid article about the new Sensation XE.

Link: [Update: Early October UK Availability] HTC Sensation XE is the First Official Beats Smartphone

The XE looks like a first cousin to the Vigor in terms of specs. The photo in the article shows a definite red theme, including the desktop, speaker grill, earphone cord, and red ring around the camera. It definitely looks like the red accents are related to Beats, rather than the Droid line.

I still think the sculpted back of the Vigor reminds me of the Inc1 and Inc2 though...which may or may not mean anything in terms of the official name of this phone.

Would someone be kind enough to fill me in on the "verified" rumor specs?
    RAM
    Camera
    Display size/type/resolution
    Dual core?

    Rumored specs are:

    1 GB RAM
    8MP rear/ 2MP front camera
    4.3" 720p HD display at 1280 x 720 (don't know type, but guess SLCD)
    1.5 GHz dual core Qualcomm

Beyond that there is supposedly 16GB onboard storage, Beats by Dre software & headphones, and shipping with android 2.3.4 and Sense 3.5.

I hope these rumors are true and it doesn't turn out like the original Tbolt did (with the rumored 1.2 GHz dual core that turned out to be a 2nd gen 1 GHz single core).

The only things that will keep me from getting it launch day is battery life and how good the physical buttons are. Battery life was hit and miss on the Tbolt, but great on the Inc2. My only gripe with the Inc2 is the physical buttons (lock, volume rocker) are a little too recessed. I'll wait this time around.

I think it may be a typo but who knows. I mean since it would be the first phone with that type of screen resolution not sure how it will be. I just hope this holds true and the screen doesn't look bad and half decent battery life. If so it def will be my next phone.
