ok so forgive my ignorance but... Hero 2.1 no root, but evo can be rooted?

forgive my ignorance but the Official Hero 2.1 update is not able to be rooted, but evo can be rooted? How come?

I think it's a matter of it just not being done yet. The Evo was just rooted today or yesterday which means there is an exploit in 2.1.

even the root of the Evo hasn't been released as far as how to do it.. just a few screen shots showing an app that says SU

and look how the hero was able to be rooted easily and the eris took forever to be rooted yet they are almost the same phone.
