Anyone know of any...the .ogg files seem to be hit or miss. they play on some phones, play half the sound on others and even times dont play at all. I want to save the notifications as mp3 so I can use them with whatever phone i happen to be using

Then simply convert ogg files to mp3 for better support.
You can use for example Format Factory for that.

The trouble with ogg files is that they are not natively supported in Android.
Conversion is not a big deal. This can be done much faster than a similar conversion with video files.

You could also check Zedge. I know they have a bunch of NES stuff. Not sure which format they give it to you in, though, but pretty sure MP3 is an option.
