Are you able to use the wifi on old phones without data charges if you have upgraded? My children want to play on my old phone through my wifi at home but I'm not sure. I know it does connect but I am scared that the data charges will be obtained on my husbands account.

If there's no sim card in it there's no data charges.

Sure you can. I let my kids use my old phone for the same purpose. If the apps are already on the phone and they don't require a data connection, they can use it wherever. Just make sure to use an app to lock certain apps from being accessed, like the market and internet. I use one called "Kid Mode" it allows you to give the kids there own profile homescreen fior the apps they can only have access to.

If you turn off packet data (or better yet, delete the access points), there should be no data charges. I know a lot of people who dont have data plans but own android phones as their primary phones and dont incur data charges.

I went online to check to see if data charges were being applied to my account and it's not showing any BUT do you think they will show up next month?? I'm scared to find out!!
  6. If your kid(s) did incur cost on that phone you should expect 'm to show up on your bill, yes.

Sounds like you need to install and configure itsallgood's recommendation 'Kid Mode' asap, and/or remove the SIM card now. If only to prevent any more costly charges.
