you know i found Adrenalyn's DL30 Super Clean to be the easiest way to go DL30/Froyo and it performs beautifully once you reset battery stats as described above, i went from around 5 hours battery life after flashing to it to around a day and a half after resetting battery stats.
I was on DH12 by the way, original release stock config, only rooted.
All i did was:
1. Using Odin PDA option flashed the DJ09 modem.tar file to upgrade the radio/modem
2. Then of course i had Rom Manager installed and flashed Clockwork Recovery using it (the one from the market), and then told it to reboot into recovery
3. then "Install zip from SD" and chose the DL30_super_clean_1.0 zip file found here
[ROM] DL09 Super Clean 0.4/DL30 1.0 - xda-developers
and that installs DL30 and the CWM kernel all in one.....and it is stupid fast
