One little problem with my new htc hero

Hi everyone..
1) i cant hear the audible beep of an incoming call while its in call waiting. When i hang up the call i see there was a missed call but while in the first call i could never hear an audible beep.

I'd always thought that was a operator function, i.e. the beep is generated by the network operator, not the phone itself.

I may be wrong.

Yes exactly.. I thought so as well but when i put my sim in another phone it gives a beeping sound on call waiting while the same SIM in my hero doesnt. Any bright ideas? I tried to look in the "settings menu" and i did not see any option that could help...

Menu > Settings > Call Settings > Additional Call Settings > Check Call Waiting.

Ok... This drove me crazy with my wife's phone. (Samsung Vibrant though) Maybe it will work with yours so I'm posting. Searched all the forums I could find with no luck.

Try
Go to Settings, Call Settings, All Calls, Alerts On Call. Hers was on vibrate. I clicked sound and it works fine now. Off also works.
