Haha. Whoops. I accidentally quoted myself, but my question was obviously for you. I stink :D

EDIT: I actually have a class 6 card, so I can assure you that the class 2 card was not the cause of the problem.

Well at least the flat keys are better at one thing: collecting dust :(

Here's an update on the video pixelation situation:

After taking some test videos on my new Droid, I did indeed get the pixelation. However, my wife's Droid doesn't seem to have this problem. So I started thinking about what could be different between the two Droids. Then I realized that while she has relatively no pictures/videos in her DCIM folder on her Droid, I have A TON. I went ahead and moved all of my pictures/videos out of the DCIM folder and into a separate folder, and so far, I haven't had a pixelation issue yet.

Now, I'm not saying that this is the definitive reason for this problem, but it's something that *appears* to have an effect on it. I'm going to continue testing out the Droid tonight to see if there is actually any difference with a relatively empty DCIM folder. If anyone else who has seen this problem cares to test it out w/ me, it would be appreciated.

Here are some pics of both the release day phone and a new replacement phone. Hope this help adds some visuals to the topic.

There is definitely a difference between the two, but i wouldn't say one is better than the other. The first one i picked up on release day (41/09) has the raised keys, but i feel like they are also more stiff and harder to press. Whereas the newer model (47/09) has the flat keys that are easier to press.

Lets face it, the droid doesn't have the best keyboard out there in the first place, but if your like me and you have gotten used to it, then both of these keyboards will work just fine.

I can see why some people don't like the keyboard.. I never realized mine was any different until this thread. I have the raised keys and I love the keyboard, I can type much faster on it than my old enV2. My build date is 38/09, so it seems that the older phones have the raised keys.

I have one of the bubbly ones. I thought it was the one that everyone was complaining about and couldnt understand. I will admit this is the first phone with a keyboard I have ever had. However when I got a hold of my friends he seems to have every symptom that people complain about. Loose battery door. Slider slides to easily and a really really flat keyboard.

    I got lucky.

    Date is 41/09

I have the bubbly keyboard and have typed on the flat keyboard, they both have pros and cons. The flat keyboard is faster and more 'clicky' and my raised keyboard has a more squishy feel but is more defined in between the keys.

I'm not sure which I would prefer, but when typing quickly I'm not sliding over the keys, I just know the distances... so maybe the flatter, quicker keys would be better.

mine was built in 49/09 and i have a bubbly keypad. A coworker has a 51/09 and her keys are completely flat. my aunt also has one but idk her build date yet.

this is pretty weird...i will say i have used both and the bubbly is soooo much easier. i was confused as to why people didnt like the keyboard. i rarely use the on screen one

Mine has raised keys. I've had 2 droids, one with the more flat style keys and now my current one has the raised keys. Its a lot nicer to have the raised keys. I'm too busy to pull out my battery to check the build date. Ill do it later.

please do. I had my aunt pull hers last night and hers is a 39/09. her keyboard is flat...

im so confused as to why there would be 2 different keyboard styles out there. based on my build date, 49/09, there are people in here will older and newer ones then me and they have flat keyboards.

why would motorola do that? especially wen u see that most people here, with the bubbly keys, were confused as to why people complained about the keyboard. Mine works great, very easy to use, even wen im not looking at it. i used my aunts yesterday and i find myself double pushing keys like O and P at the same time. just not as comfortable as the bubbly one in my opinion

i see your point but my friend with the 50/09 one has only had it out of the box for a week or so and his keys have been bubbly since day one from what he tells me. He also has his original droid, since the 50/09 is his replacement for the broken one. he's going to get me the date and keyboard style for that this evening. my aunts (39/09), uses hers daily and her keyboard is completely flat

even the material the keys are made from feels different

It could be a couple of things, different manufacture's for the keyboards (different molds) it could be that one cavity has the bubble the others do not (multi-cavity mold) It could be the plastic mixture is not exact and the shrinkage is not as much on the bubble one (all plastics have shrinkage when they cool in the molding process) some less then others a bit off in the mixture will change the shrinkage.

    I don't think it's a different design I think it's a manufacturing variation.

    I got a 43/09.

I bought mine at a Wal-Mart the night before launch day. Mine is definitely bubbly. I type on the keyboard all the time with no problems.

the idea makes sense but i highly doubt thats wats going on. this is a major design change/flaw that obviously has affected the opinion of the droid to some people. i honestly hate the flat keyboard, im afraid to break my current one in fear of it being flat.

i just dont see how they could have such a large manufacturing variaton, especially one that makes it easier or harder to use for some people
