For some reason when I connect my Bionic only the EXTSD card mounts and I cannot access the internal SD card.

Anyone have an idea why this is happening? I am running OS Lion on my Mac.

Same problem here. At first I could also access the internal drive, now only the EXTSD.

However, I can get to the internal card on the phone itself, using the built-in File Manager. From there, I can move or copy a file to the SD card, and then access it from the computer. Inelegant, but workable for many things.

I don't know if this will work on a Mac, but it did work for Windows.

    1. Power down the phone
    2. Remove battery
    3. Remove SD card
    4. Reinstall battery
    5. Powerup phone
    6. After phone has booted up...power it back off
    7. Remove battery
    8. Reinstall SD card
    9. Reinstall Battery
    10. Powerup phone

After the phone has booted up, connect your usb cable and look in windows explorer. You should now see both the internal & external mounted.

When I install the official 5.2.1 drivers (for rooting and whatnot), I lose the capability of seeing the internal sdcard. But if I uninstall them and just let Windows 7 load it's own drivers, I can see both sdcards.

I am having the same issue and I think it is a phone problem.
I tried the process noted by MajorTom308 and it did not work for me.
I have connected the phone to a WinXP Pro machine and a Win7 32bit machine and I get exactly the same result. The external SD card will mount and I can see files on it but the internal just says Please insert disk.
This is with the phone set to Mass Storage mode.
If I change it to PC Mode I do see the internal card.

I have a co-worker that has a Bionic as well and connecting his phone, in mass storage mode, to the same WinXP machine I can see both internal and external SD cards right away.

This did noy work on mine, so it's not a universal fix.
nothing has worked for me so far, I'm hoping an update will do it.

My first phone I never could see the internal sd card only the ext. I finally returned it and when I was doing a factory reset it would just stick on unmounting sd card and never did unmount so I could format it. My new phone works fine with both sd and sd ext showing up when I connect to computer.

For me it would work once. The next time I connected it wouldn't.

I am connected with the USB cable that came with my Droid X cradle (last year). The Home screen was on my Bionic. It was only recognizing my SD card.

With it still connected I powered the Bionic off and powered it back on.

When the Home screen was displayed the SD card was displayed. After 12 seconds later another disk drive displayed phone memory.

I unplugged the USB cable and both went away. I plugged in the USB cable and only the SD card was shown. I powered off and powered on and both appeared again.

Now that I have a fix that works for me ... it never fails ... every time I plug in the USB cable both drives appear.

It is interesting that Windows 7 mounts the SD card not shared and it mounts the other card shared.

So ... try power off/power on with the Bionic connected to Windows 7.

    ... Thom

I had this issue but resolved it after a factory reset (to resolve an unrelated issue) and reformat of the internal sd.
