Is it possible to have Google Search open music files via PowerAmp instead of the default player?

Or is it possible to have Android Music (default player) not auto-search all music but create an index of specific directories?

Unfortunately it only lists Music and not PowerAMP! The Music-application does not support selecting custom directories for indexing music.

There is a free Google app called Gesture Search which will index all music and contacts on your phone. Then with 1 finger you can find any song you want and (this is important) the first time you go to a song, choose your default music player.
