So Opera Mini 5 beta is out. What I wanted to know is what Nexus One users experience with it? I heard Droid and especially lower androids have issues with it, except for maybe speed. Wanted to know if the N1 was special as always. I am trying it out myself now.

Opera Mini 5 beta now available for Android – Android and Me

It is hella fast. And I think because of my N1, its hella hella fast. And the UI is nice. But the text overlap kills the experience. On sites I need info quickly, it looks like opera isn't optimized for it. Oh, and no multitouch (not that big of a deal) or importing my bookmarks from stock browser automatically (big deal) kind of makes me want to uninstall...

    When will firefox come, Ack!

The server-side compression makes it fast, but the page rendering is atrocious. The speed is nice though. I'll keep it around for times when I'm stuck on EDGE and don't want to wait on the full browser.

+1 it's ugly ugly but may be useful when there is no 3g to be found.

The UI is more refined like a true app should be, but I'll second the rendering comments. I'm sure they'll work on these so Opera definitely has potential. Its only beta after all.
