Orange HTc hero update vs custom rom update

    I am still on custom rom and thinking if i should got and update with Orange ROM?


    what is the difference vs these 2 rom?

    any speed performance on orange or both the same and any new features?

    also when update to orange rom .. will u get orange boot screen too?

    The stock ROMs don't have any of Paul's additions/tweaks, obviously.

    As the MCRs are based on the same 2.73.xxx.xx build they're more or less identical. Stock may be marginally better due to lack of additional features.

    also I heard if you go for HTC HERO offical ROM later you wont be able to go to custom roms? correct..

    I am thinking to stick with custom rom instead using the official one.

    No, it just makes it more difficult as you first have to replace the new HBoot with an earlier one that allows flashing of custom recovery images.

    so basically its pretty much just the same ROM, with a different name, so if i installed he standard ROM it wouldn't do anytthing to my phone.

    Plus rooted, tweaked (as far as possible without kernel source) for performance, and with a shed-load of added functionality. It's based on the same ROM build though.

    Apart from update it, no.
