Orange - T-Mobile 3G Mobile Internet

As we know Orange and T-Mobile in the UK have merged... However it is only using each others 2G networks and in my area for orange I can only get 'G' (GPRS) which is very slow... However T-Mobile has 3G coverage in my area but as its 2G only at the moment I get 'G' with 'Orange T-Mobile' as well, I know T-Mobile has 3G service in my area beacuse my friend has a Desire on T-Mobile. Does anyone know if and when people on Orange like myself will be able to use T-Mobile's network for 3G as well?

Have you thought about ringing Orange and see what their' official' line is ?

I have yeah but they said they cant give me any information.. So i was just wondering if anybody knows anything
