Yesterday, when I used phone for the first time it was working good.

Now, I rotate phone for YOUTUBE for example and it does rotate it, but after I rotate back, it doesnt change back.

With photos, I rotate phone and it doesn't even rotate.

And yes, I do have Orientation in SOUND & DISPLAY checked.

I even unchecked it and checked it back and it doesn't work.

    Anyone with same problem?

I don't understand. How could something be working one day and the next day...bang!.....nothing.

    Websites are the same.

They rotate to landscape, but it does not come back.

EDIT: There is definitely something wrong, I decided to play TEETER and the ball is supposed to go down and it stays on top of the phone like it's "glued" to something...lol

2ND EDIT: I think I found the problem. I decided to use G-Senson calibration, in Sound & Display, I put phone firm and let it calibrate and is now working.

I'm having orientation issues but a little different. My screen only rotates when viewing a photo, but no where else. I swear I remember the screen rotating fine when I first got the phone. Very strange.

I had tried that earlier but it didn't help. Guess I'll go back and try it again.

Ill bet you ran the G calibration tool, and like me stood the DI on edge like it was a level app. Run again with the phone laying flat on its back and see if that helps.

Luckily I did it right the first time and just tried it again but still no luck. With my G1 I can rotate the phone in any screen and the image rotates to landscape. The DI should do the same correct?

Edit: Now it seems to be working in a few more screens like market and browser (didn't earlier) but still not in some other screens. I'll have to keep an eye open to see if others chime in with this issue.

I had this same issue start right after doing the g-sensor calibration the first time. The screen would rotate left into landscape, but wouldn't rotate back into portrait. If I exited the app and came back in, everything was fine.

As it turned out, I was doing exactly what vgpop stated above - I calibrated it on it's side like a level. Once I laid the phone flat on it's back and re-calibrated, everything is back working correctly again.
  9. Hi,

I have the same problem with my HTC Hero.
Orientation stopped working after a short while.
Several days later I put in a new, larger SD Card and back it came working, then it stopped again.
Removed and replaced the new SD Card and back it came working.
Still working now after 2 hours.
  10. Some apps working, like compass, but browser orientation not. Frustrating!!
