I just received an update and I have no idea what it was for. Does anyone know? I was surprised that I got one already because my previous Samsung phones almost never got updates even for the minor stuff.

"Effective November 23, 2011, a new maintenance release is available to customers using the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket (i-727). The update includes improvements for the touchscreen component and security updates"

from the chat, nothing special, but they don't get all the information, so, better than nothing :)

What a difference...the screen transition smoother and I get all my content from emails that contain images. I even notice a speed bump in browsing...how quickly the pages resolve is AMAZING!...I have to give it to ATT, they stepped it up!:D

    I did...
The update seemed to work like it should. No error/warning messages about being over privileged lol. My phone is still rooted after the fact.

OK - So what am I doing wrong?

After the update was installed, the phone gyrated a number of times and went through numerous re-boots before settling down. At that time I noticed that I had lost my Wi-Fi home connection as well as Bluetooth was turned off. After fiddling around in Settings, I was able to get reconnected to my home Wi-Fi. I then tried to turn on Bluetooth at which time the phone started to gyrate and attempt numerous boots again. This lasted for about 10 minutes before steeling down. Again my Wi-Fi ended up disconnected. Trying to reconnect to Bluetooth repeated the multiple booting process. This action happens whenever the phone is turned off and then on again. Removing and re-installing the battery does not help.

Yes did that and did factory reset twice. Think the problem is rooted with Odin and flashed TM SG2 with rom manger as recommended. Every time I did factory reset it was already rooted and believe that is what interfered with update. So need original firmware and software to restore.

I've been trying every day since the 23rd, I've even called Samsung and AT& T. They say to keep waiting and trying, it's coming. There is a problem with the notification sounders, if you change away from 'sherbet' in settings, it will default to 'whistle'. You have to go into messages and change your notification Sounder in there as well to make it work. They are not tied together, I was told by both Samsung and AT&T that this fix is part of the update.
