Root OTA Updates and Rooted desires

Hi all, I bought my desire a few weeks ago and rooted it to get the froyo update and ot get rid of all that nasty orange branded stuff. It has a newer boot version than most 0.83 I believe so it was rooted using SDK tools not the goldcard method.

I've just downloaded and tried to install an OTA update - the improved RUs keyboard 25mb one. Realised I could not install it because I have rooted.

My question is how will I receive these updates if I cannot install them via OTA?

Once rooted, you can install custom roms which have these fixes / updates included.

Either that or you could flash a generic Froyo RUU, loosing root (and data) then update your phone normally.
