I just picked up the otterbox commuter in black for the ballistic turbo. So far i am really liking it with no problems at all. I decided on the commuter over the defender because of the problems people were having with the built in screen protector on the defender. And apparently since i am the only one who has bought an otterbox since i have not received any replies since i posted the main thread, i hope that i can help someone out in their decision.

I got the Defender and ripped the screen protector out of it. :) I like it as I like to carry it on my belt and have the ability to click it in and out of its case.

Just saw your post. I too bought the Commuter. I work in an office so I thought that the Defender was a bit bulky for me plus I don't need that much protection. If you work outside or in an industrial space, the Defender would be great.

The Commuter is nice. Well built but not over the top. Provides the right amount of protection but I can still put the phone comfortably in my shirt pocket.

The phone did fall from my desk onto a wooden floor with zero impact to the phone. Now I'm looking for a screen protector that will cover the front. I would like to get a glass one like my wife has on her iPhone 6 plus. It's really nice.

I think you made a good decision on the case.

I bought the Defender, and like a previous post I removed the screen protector after struggling with it for several days. It is now a great case with a belt clip. Very satisfied. I tried the Flip Case for about 10 minutes. It felt cheap and flimsy.

Pretty happy with the commuter, been a long time defender user and yes the screen protector sucks but it's good protection.
Only gripe with the commuter so far is laying on a table typing it kinda rocks around.

I've used the commuter on my last three phones with good results. I went with the solid black commuter for the Turbo and it fits perfect. I've never been a fan of screen protectors so I just toss the one that comes with the commuter. Never had a problem with screens.

I've dropped phones a few times and the commuter did what it was supposed to. It provides moderate protection. If your phone gets treated like a hockey puck you should probably look elsewhere.
