I bought the otterbox for my gnex and was wondering if this case will interfere with the NFC sensor. Does anyone know? What about the 'beam' feature? I dont have another Gnex to try it with

it won't interfere with NFC, it just turns your phone into a life raft.

I tried the Otterbox Defender (which VZW is selling) . I don't like the fact that the Defender's screen protector really dulls the display. Makes it look like an industrial phone. Of course, that is the Defender model's purpose. May look at the Commuter version instead. Not sure if it has that screen protector or not. Regardless, I need some type of case, gel/silicon. The Nexus is very light and slick in the hands. Accident waiting to happen.

i had the otterbox on my bionic, and returned it. it was overkill. otterboxes were designed by pelican for the military and i'm not in a warzone. besides, i pay for verizon's damage protection anyway and don't need a case that can protect the phone from a fall from top of the sears tower.

Am I missing what these have to do with the OPs question? ;)

Awesome, i'm glad to hear NFC will still work. I know its my job to research something before I bought the otterbox defender but I thought it was lame the verizon guy sold me this otterbox and recommended a 3-pack of screen protectors. I didn't know this otterbox had a built in screen protector.

This Otterbox makes it a bit thicker but I guess I don't notice it that much coming from a Droid 3 with a thick rubber case. I do agree that the Otterbox's built in screen cover dull's the sharpness a little bit but its a trade off because dust and dirt can't get in.
