Do you need busybox for root and supersu? If so what version is best? Thanks!
the supersu zip in the cwm post installs busybox. just flash it from cwm. no need to odin after the ota updates.
I have supersu now from the return to stock odin.I can flash the supersu zip over what i have now?
One more thing please.Ihave ota update waiting. Will it remove my cwm 220.127.116.11?
Yes, if you take the ota update it will remove cwm and root. But you would then just have to Odin cwm back and reflash the Super user zip
Shabby was just wondering if someone has pulled the system image for ya, I'll have my Rush this coming Monday...
Has anyone used Samsung Kies to do an update, in order to return to stock?
hey come on someone need to do this lol
I've tried and it's not possible, won't take the serial number of the phone... :/
Dam did no one back up there stock so i can restore the phone back to normal through cwm so i can do the update with no error's
I got ya man, gimme time to zip it up and upload it...
what are you talking about? the whole point of this thread is so you can use odin and return to stock
dude said in this description that files missing so its not a complete tar , when i try to update the phone i get an error and i didn't back up my phone
yea like i said in the first post, since this doesnt have the modem files you arent going to be able to revert those. so when you try to apply an update it hash checks the radio and fails. cwm wont back them up either.
no matter how many time syou flash this file if you did an update you now broke your ability to update all together.
however using this will get your phone back and working if you mess it up to where it wont boot/etc
Since this is your thread Shabby just wanna let you know that I tried to help him out by uploading my current CWM Backup but I can't seem to find a file host that will let me upload at least 548 MB in one file, so idk wtf to do at this point, he should like you said just use ODIN and flash this stock rooted tar image, it will in fact get his phone back to working order... I have however offered to even have him call me so I could help him do it step by step but I guess his phone isn't in service, but if he finds a way to call me on another phone I'm still willing to help, I'm just that type of guy, I know how it is to not have a functional phone, has happened to me too many times that I don't even wanna remember lol, not a good feeling, but these guys need to learn to trust people on here especially the great devs like you and they might learn something and get somewhere, anyway that's just my 2 cents worth if it even means anything, but once again Shabby thanks again for all that you continue to do for us, your contributions to our forums make it that much more enjoyable for us to explore, learn, and expand our knowledge on the great and vast wonderful world of Android, there's nothing else in the world that comes anywhere near it!!! :smokingsomb: :car:
when i download the update and it restart's i got an error in the recovery mode when it trys to install the update
What update man, it's not an update to be flashed in CWM, you flash it with ODIN, follow the instructions on the OP...
the update from Samsung software i mean
This thread might help: http://androidforums.com/rush-all-things-root/644099-stock-apk-installation.html
if you never took the update you can flash this tar and be fine to do the update. but until someone dumps every single partition from this phone and opens them up in hex editor and figures out which ones is which there isnt much i can do about making a full odin tar.
Hell if you're willing to work with me on that Shabby I wouldn't mind trying to do that, just need some guidance as to how and what to use as far as the hex editing...
unfortunatly i cant :/
i can assist ya in dumping the files but i have no way of knowing what one is what :/
Ok we can start there I guess...
does this work if you have flashed a rom?
