Help Outlook 2003 Duplication Sync Error

I have had my phone for a couple of months now, and recently realized that the birthdays I had in Outlook had been duplicated several times. To make things a little more interesting, there is actually the original and the several others that have the same title but are for different dates. While it is easy to eliminate them from the computer calendar, it is monotonous to try to do this on the phone side of things (seeing as there are over 100 different erroneous items. Just wondering if anyone out there has dealt with the same issues.
