Outlook Calendar and Contacts synch on new Android

I'm just switching from Blackberry to Android (verizon, Thunderbolt) and am having a tough time getting my outlook calendar and contacts to synch.

I am not running exchange but use outlook with GoDaddy as my hosting solution for my business. I've done the gmail account sign-up, have taken the thing back to verizon for help to no avail, I get my emails and can send but no calendar synching happening.

I don't want to go back to blackberry but I need to figure this out to stay on Android.

Any suggestions?
