    i dont no if this is the same in the uk but on the forum t mobile . com it says you can cheack for up dates like this

    To make your Android phone "Check In" for the latest software, follow the steps below:


    Important note: Developer, non-T-Mobile software versions and rooted devices cannot receive the Over The Air (OTA) update.
    1. Go to the homescreen.
    2. Tap on Dialer - to open the dialer screen.

    Over the air updates are not applicable to Samsung Galaxy Spica (AFAIK). The new update to Android 2.1 will be administered via PC Studio 7 software and only by connecting the device to the PC.

    That will be interesting since New PC Studio is mostly disabled for the Spica.

    Try the new update for i5700 on Open Source - Samsung Mobile A new 2.1 open source update has been released. This might change the interaction between the PC Studio and Spica.
