edit; the head unit is a kenwood ddx 418

Alright Im trying to pair my inc with my new kenwood dvd player via bluetooth. I dont' know much about this aspect of the install. I but the head unit on bluetooth then press mode. Next I turned my phone's bluetooth on and selected discoverable mode, then scanned for devices. My phone will pick up my kenwood dvd player, but once i select pair on my phone it loads for a second and then says error.

    Any idea's
    Thanks

I have a sony deck with bt in it and initially I had to put in a lock code, which for mine was just 0000 I think, then it worked fine. If you look in the instructions it should have some sort of code you have to put in to allow pairing.

    Good Luck.

no luck I looked in the instruction booklet that came with the unit and it just says once you have paired the two how to set up phone books and all that good stuff. However I have a little more info that leads me to believe that it is my phone acting out. My phone will recognize my head unit but my head unit does not recognize my my phone. when I go to pair the two here is the list of events that take place in order.

    1. put my headunit in bluetooth mode.
    2. go to the settings menu and select pin code and have entered(00000)and(1234)
    3. Turn my phones bluetooth on and select discovery mode
    4. It finds my headunit.
    5. I select to pair the two units
    6. It says pairing rejected by my headunit.

    any ideas.

is there a pin code for my phone if so could it be something besides 0000, or 1234, or the last 4 digits of my number? If so could it be the model number by chance?

alright after a few minutes of research I've may be on to something. alot of people have been having problems pairing the incredible to their cars. Next if anyone has succesfully paired their phone to their radio did you have to enter the cars code on your phone, and the phones code onto the car radio. Because when I go to pair the two up it only ask for a code on my radio not my phone. so.....?

I know when I initially paired my phone to my headunit, I had to have both the phone and the headunit actively searching for it. When they found eachother I had to enter in one code, which was on the phone, I'm assuming the code for the head unit, actually, I'm positive it was the pin for the head unit. Have you tried pairing it with a BT headset or something to see if it works with that? Honestly it seems like something with the deck.

NM, lol, just read all the other ones, haha.
