I have my ANS UL40 (Lifeline Account) in the shop the Battery Died. Non-Removable Battery. Can't find Parts.
However, The Tech needs a PASSCODE to access the Onboard Memory to retrieve my Data for Contact's & Pictures. So,I Can transfer them to my Replacement Phone. I can't find a PASSCODE, nor whatever I used at the time, about 2 years ago. Is there a way to Get the Code? I contacted Assurance with No Luck. Is there a work-around? Any way to find out what the Initial PASSCODE was??
I took it to the Shop as the Battery would no longer take a Charge.

Welcome to Android Forums @Rick Wymer

Sorry to be the one to welcome you with bad news but unless you remember your password or saved it somewhere else (cloud/sd/pc/flash drive) then your data will be unretractable. :(

Take a look at the link below to get an idrea of what an encryption key is and what it does

    https://source.android.com/security/encryption/full-disk

I'm also pretty sure even with the encryption key, unless you enabled usb debugging in developer options prior to your phone dying you still wouldn't be able to retreve your data.

I finally located the CODE (Dumb Me, lol)....so the Tech told me he can get the phone up to about 30-40% Charge (continuous) with his Bench Power source. If he can Open the Phone can't he transfer that Data to a SD Card I had put in the Phone? Then I could Transfer it to my New Phone, or my PC??

I have to ask, who exactly are "The Tech" and "the Shop"? More details needed possibly. Although if this an older device, then battery and parts maybe difficult or impossible, depending on the manufacturer and their support.

@mikedt just gave me an idea. You could aldo purchase a used ANS UL40 and use the battery as replacement parts for your current phone.

I don't actually know this phone, as I'm in China. However apparently battery can be removed and replaced, but it's very much DIY, or you have to find someone do it for you.
Note the comment from the video "really awful phone".

It does sound like you need a way to get this phone powered-up and running, so you can retrieve your pictures, etc. from it.

Well the "Shop" & the "Tech" have a Franchise Repair Shop here for doing most all Phone & PC Repairs.
As an FYI: The ANS Company has a Grand Total of 2 Employees, one is the CEO, and the Other is Outside Sales & Support (good luck reaching him however, the Phone Mailbox is always Full) they Sold an Ungodly amount of Phones to the Federal Government for use on the Lifeline Program.
I found out also, there's embedded "Viruses" in the OS of their Phones

Well if I as a Social Security recipient and a very Limited Budget, can get a Free Replacement Phone from Assurance as part of the Lifeline Program. doesn't make much sense in getting in to deep $$...of Course the Replacement phone might not be much better: UMX U693CL, good Ol' Uncle Sam

Well The New Phone is at the Shop too, so the Tech can swap the Contacts & my Pictures to this New Phone from the Old ANS

Didn't you sync and backup your contact and pictures with Google, or some other service, or your own computer? Because otherwise you'll need to get your ANS UL40 working again, like doing a DIY battery replacement.
