Password management for "Apps"

A

Android Question

Guest
Hi, I am trying to understand the capabilities of the various Password Manager applications.

They don't seem to understand the concept of an Android "app" that has the same logon id and password as the corresponding web site or mobile website, but is accessed from a smartphone icon as opposed to a url. The only way I have figured out to use a PM with an Android app is to cut and paste the ID and password from the master file.

Am I missing something, or is this the only option?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 with Verizon.

Hi, and welcome.

I haven't used a password manager, but I would imagine you are correct that they cannot differentiate between an app and a website.

Could you change the passwords to match one another and have that work?

Sorry I am unable to help. You might contact the developer of your favorite one and see if they will add an app password option.
