I'm in the process of changing all my passwords again. How do I change my gmail password on my phone? I went to the accounts/sync under settings but I didn't find an option for it.

If you are on 2.1, you go to settings>accounts & sync and delete the Google Account. Then, you can add it back in with the new password. There may be another way, but that's the only way I know how you could do it.

I thought about doing it like that, it wouldn't mess with any of my purchased apps or anything though do you think?

Shouldn't. As long as you log back into the same account, it shouldn't make a difference.

I did this once. It automatically logged me out and told me to re-log in with the new password.

This was on 1.5 though. I'm sure the same would happen on 2.1

It seems to me as though it would work. It would be linking you back to the same Google account, just via a new password, so I don't know why it would mess with your options.
