I've been using PdaNet for months now, it worked fine for most of those, but just about a month ago, it suddenly started to have the following issues:
It would refuse connection for Steam and Thunderbird, leading to a timeout and a few https websites would only work every 5 minutes and timeout beside that.
I then updated from whatever 2. version I was on to 3 and found the error still present, nor could I find any changes I would have made to my PC or Android. As I couldn't get a reply from the developer, I was hoping someone here would be able to help, as I really love PdaNet, but obviously can't keep using it with such issues.

So have you tried your Android's built-in wireless portable hotspot setting? It does the same thing, only wireless.

What makes you think that I want to use a completely different thing?

I'm having the same kind of issues.
Started a thread here a week and a half ago:

    No answers.

My son uses EasyTether and doesn't have any problems. His computer is much newer that mine - don't knw if that makes a difference. I even have the paid upgrade for PdaNet, and all I get from the developer is a stock FAQ response.

Please let us know if anything gets resolved.
