O.K. so I have had my Inspire for a few months now and I love it. However, there is one GLARING problem I have been having.

When I am typing auto correct or predictive text is entering periods in the weirdest and certainly the wrong places. Examples follow:

"Hey sweety, did you.want to go out to the.thrift stores?"
    "So the meeting.got.moved to 1?"
"Yes I am on.my way. Should be.there in 15 minutes."

What is causing this? I know I am not hitting the period key and its happening more and more. Did I tell it to do this at some point without realizing it?

You may be hitting the space key twice, or at least the keyboard is thinking you are. I'm pretty sure there is a setting that converts a double space to a period. Are you using the stock keyboard or a 3rd party keyboard? I know that in the Gingerbread keyboard settings you can change that. Not sure if you can in the stock keyboard.

Same thing. It just started happening to me about today, and doesn't happen too often. I often wonder if I hit the period button but I don't think I was.

Still using the standard keyboard. Running Android 2.3.3, HTC sense 2.1

I know I am not hitting the space key twice as this has happened when I have been typing slowly to see if would happen. Also it does not put the space or capitalize the following word as it does when you hit double space.

    Its really weird. LOL

Have you tried running the calibration tool in the keyboard settings? Perhaps the touch screen sensors aren't quite lined up with the images on the screen.
