when you are in the adb shell and you see the dollar sign have you tried typing su and see if it changes to #? also look at your phone when you do this to see if it asks for permission on the phone...not sure if this affects pushing the recovery image but it will let you know if you flashed the rooted PBM00IMG.

you need to use the "su" command first.

I'm not sure if you need to use it to push the recovery image I just suggested it to check if your phone is rooted.

are you sure you downloaded the 2.1root and not one of the 2.1 leaks? also did you check your phone when the computer is telling you permission denied to see if the it is requesting permission to allow adb to access your phone? if you were rooted and you type in su it should show you the # sign then....

pretty sure it was 2.1 leak that is in the phone and nothing happened on the phone asking for permission.

Yep. You will have to sit tight and wait for the devs to gain root on the 2.1 leaks.
