Basically I'm trying to root my htc hero (telus)(1.5) with the goldcard method.
I've gotten to the part where i created my goldcard and is about to install the ruu.
However I receive error 170 which means the ruu can't connect to the phone.
I'm just about to give up. ADB can see the phone. HTC sync software can see the phone ( tho it disconnects when ruu runs).
Ive tried everything from turning on htc sync, turn it off, fastboot, hboot, usb ruu boot, ...
    Plz help

BTW using windows 7 and dont rlly have another option.

A little update. I was able to get it to connect however now i get error 171.
I think its due to the fact that the htc boorloader driver is not installing properly. it gives me code 38 error. but once the ruu exits the driver starts working
