My relatively new Droid 3 spontaneously reset on me while I was using the browser. It began to reboot normally, showing the Motorola logo. Once it switched to the glowing red eye, it froze. The notification light began blinking, the keyboard and home buttons lit up, but the phone was frozen on that red eye. I tried turning the screen on and off, but it just stayed off. I did a battery pull and had the exact same issue. I tried taking the battery out for a few minutes and then resetting, and actually got to the unlock screen, but slightly off center and with a black background reading "no service". The touch screen was unresponsive as well. What the heck? I had similar problems with my old Droid 1, where the Motorola logo would split in half and the phone would freeze like that. Has anyone has similar issues? The phone is in pristine condition, and has not been dropped or exposed to any liquids. The battery is full. Does anyone have any advice?

If you decide to do a master reset, HERE is how you doing it using the external keys.

I recovered from a bad wallpaper using this when the phone wouldn't boot. Of course, you will be back to factory fresh condition.
