So one time I left my device (Lenovo A6020a40) on to charge without the screen turning off my internet data was also running next morning the battery was totally drained to 6%. After this the battery drains and heats up when the device is idle I have factory reset it it still persist .Should I change the battery and charger .

Looking over the hardware specs of your model, it does have a user-replaceable battery so that might be something to try. Just note that any battery you buy will most likely be just as dated as the battery you currently have. An old, unmaintained battery is aging differently than a similar old battery that's been in constant use, but either way its capacity to hold a charge is diminished.
But a phone that only has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage is always going to be putting a heavy demand on its limited system resources. I'd question whether you want to spend more money on this phone, you might want to put that money into getting a new or at least newer phone that does have adequate resources, and is running at least a more recent version of Android.
